CITY PALACE

City Palace, Udaipur, is a palace complex in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The city Palace was built concurrently with the establishment of the Udaipur city by Maharana Udai Singh, in 1553 and his successor Maharanas over a period of the next 300 years. City Palace boasts of the wonderful blend of Medieval, European and Chinese Architecture.

The Palace has various towers, domes, and arches, which add to the flavor of the heritage site. The building is a unique depiction of the architectural and artistic evolution of Mewar through the centuries. The City Palace has always been a self-sufficient developing center within itself and shall continue to grow into an ideal prototype of a living palace complex.

LAKE PICHOLA

Lake Pichola in Udaipur is an artificial lake that was developed in 1362 AD. Pichola Lake was dug out by a Banjara during the reign of Maharana Lakha. Wide lake surrounded by low hills, palaces, temples, bathing ghats, and embankments is a picturesque lake.

Pretty as lake Pichola is, it is also home to four islands which consist of palaces and monuments constructed by the Mewar dynasty in Udaipur. Lake Pichola is lifeline of Udaipur city and the city lives on its banks.

FATEH SAGAR

Fateh Sagar Lake is situated in the city of Udaipur in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is an artificial lake named after Maharana Fateh Singh of Udaipur and Mewar. Fateh Sagar Lake is an artificial lake in Udaipur and one of the four beautiful lakes in the city.

Fatehsagar Lake said to be the pride of the City of Lakes of Udaipur (Rajasthan) INDIA. Fatehsagar Lake said to be the pride of the City of Lakes of Udaipur (Rajasthan) INDIA. This pear-shaped lake is encircled by hills, with the exception of its eastern side, where a straight stone dam is to be found.

JAGDISH TEMPLE

It is an Indo-Aryan Temple built by Maharana Jagat Singh. The temple is located near the Badi Pol entrance of the City Palace and one can easily find a way up to it through the elephant-flanked steps. The deity of Lord Vishnu in black stone (in the form of Jagganath) presides over this temple. There is also a brass image of Vishnu’s vehicle Garuda facing the statue of Lord Vishnu in the main shrine.

There are many small shrines other than the main temple and are dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the Sun God, Goddess Shakti, and Lord Shiva. A large number of devotees throng the temple, especially to watch the Aarti that takes place at every sunrise and sunset.

MAHARANA PRATAP MEMORIAL

Maharana Pratap Memorial is a historic site that is dedicated to the gallant Maharana Pratap. Situated at the top of Moti Margi or Pearl Hill, the memorial overlooks the Fateh Sagar Lake. In Hindi, the memorial is known as "smarak" and smarak is always made in the memory of loved ones.

Maharana Pratap Memorial was constructed with the initiative taken by Maharana Bhagwat Singh Mewar with the help of public trust. GULAB BAGH

Gulab Bagh (Sajjan Niwas Garden) is the largest garden in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. Gulab Bagh is an old Sub-City Level Park, having a lush green campus and several places of attraction including ponds, library, zoological park, temples, and several government offices. The garden covers an area of about 100 acres and has a large variety of well-maintained roses.

Named after the Gulab (roses) that grow here, Gulab Bagh is located on the banks of the famous Pichola Lake. During 1850's, Maharana Sajjan Singh took the initiative to built this beautiful garden. The main attraction of Gulab Bagh are the roses in the garden. There are several varieties of roses found here including some from foreign lands.

SAHELION KI BARI

Sahelion Ki Bari "Garden of maids" is a one of the major tourist places in Udaipur. The garden is famous for its lush green lawns, marble art and fountains, presenting a green retreat in the drylands of Rajasthan. Garden of mids was built in the 18th century by Maharana Sangram Singh for the royal ladies.

MONSOON PALACE

The Monsoon Palace, also known as the Sajjan Garh Palace, is a hilltop palatial residence in the city of Udaipur, Rajasthan. It is named Sajjangarh after Maharana Sajjan Singh (1874–1884) of the Mewar Dynasty, who built Sajjangarh Fort in 1884. It offers a panoramic view of the city's lakes, palaces, and surrounding countryside. It was built basically to watch the monsoon clouds; hence, appropriately, it is popularly known as Monsoon Palace.

This Monsoon Palace is situated at such an altitude that it presents magnificent views of Lake Pichola, the Aravalli mountains, and the surrounding countryside. Visitors also love the sunset of Sajjangarh Palace. There is also Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary which encircles the palace. Now it is a forest department property and open for visitors.
